Preparing files for photographic printing

This guide will step you through the process of creating files for photographic printing that qualify for self-service prices. These guides apply to bitmap images only and were created with Adobe Photoshop users in mind. If you do not have Photoshop, the basic information provided here may also apply to your image editing software. If your image was created in an application like Quark XPress or Adobe Illustrator, an additional charge may apply to prepare your files.

For Novice Users: Follow these steps.

 

 

 

For Advanced Users: Follow these guidelines.

 

  • • Resolution: 152.5 DPI for sizes 16" x 20" and up, 305 DPI for images smaller than 16" x 20"
  • • Output Color Space: Adobe 1998 (download profile for soft proof, but DO NOT CONVERT)
  • • Canvas Size: Adjust to fit our standard print sizes
  • • Check File: Remove extra channels & paths
  • • File Format: RGB JPEG, Max Quality
  • • File Naming: prefix with exact size (i.e. 8x10-filename.jpg) and upload
